A little of our History

The ladies wrote to the men's club on feb.2 1929 asking permission to form a southport ladies bowling club.
Permission was granted on feb.14th on condition that only wives, sisters and daughters of men members could join. the first committee meeting followed on feb.18th Mrs. R. Carey was the first president.
Today we have Mrs. Mary Hethorn as our patron Mary is also one of six life members.

We play open $200.00 pro-rata social bowls every thursday morning 9.00 am and visitors are always welcome.

Every Thursday 9.00 am, Open $200.00 pairs, any team combination, ladies, men or mixed
