A little of our History

The ladies wrote to the men's club on feb.2 1929 asking permission to form a Southport Ladies Bowling Club.

Permission was granted on February 14th  (deleted) that only wives, sisters and daughters of men members could join. the first committee meeting followed on February.18th.   Mrs. R. Carey was the first President.

Today we have Mrs. Mary Hethorn as our Patron.   Mary is also one of six Life Members.
